Halfmoon

Music, Video & Animation Reel by Nico Lund part of the \Fault/LINES exhibit at the Lexington Art League on view March 17- May 6 2023

‘Wild World Away’, Echo of the Low Light’s sixth release, continues the Seattle collective’s cinematic, pop-noir journey. Opening with a simple, hypnotic train-like beat, core member Kerri Holland and guest collaborator Nico Lund’s (Early Morning Clouds) vocals are an enticing blend of catchiness and eeriness, punctuated by punchy bass - all framed by sparse guitars and synths carefully placed to create a mood of bold self-reflection. Produced by Donn Gunn (Death Cab for Cutie, The Lonely Forest). Artists: Kerri Holland (Writer, Vocals, Guitar, Digital) Pam Drago (Bass, Guitar) Nico Lund (Vocals, Guitar) Sebastien Deramat (Drums) Dylan Hanwright (Engineer)

Produced by: Don Gunn Video by: Kyle Michael Porter

The Collaboration I did with Seattle Music Collective Echo of the Low Light— ‘Wild World Away’ is set for release NEXT FRIDAY, Sept 23rd!

Growing up in a small town on the Pacific ocean, the day’s weather forecast often predicted that the sun would burn through the early morning clouds to a beautiful day. This is a perfect metaphor to represent the songs of EMC. With dark layers of melodic lyrics to parse through and a Sub-Fi-Psych guitar heavy sound — if you keep digging— underneath, below, beyond and through it all, you will find something beautiful.

halfmoon is the music project of Nico and Justin Lund, two creatives juggling the work/life/love balance conundrum that waxes and wanes continually. This debut album was recorded in one day at Jupiter Studios - released in 2006.

Nico Lund locks herself in her studio with her Korg Triton LE during a dark and stormy Bellingham Washington winter in 2008 and records with Audacity — then releases a bunch of demo’s at the dawn of Social Media and laptop computer technology.
